Caprarola and Bagnaia: the Renaissance out of Rome
A trip entirely dedicated to the beauty of northern Lazio, the so-called Tuscia. The first place visited is Palazzo Farnese in Caprarola, one of the best examples of late Italian Renaissance art. In this massive fortress, with the characteristic shape of a pentagon, the most distinguished Italian masters worked in the middle of XV century at the service of the powerful cardinal Farnese, nephew of pope Paul III. After lunch we will transfer to Bagnaia, another small town that for a long time was a holiday resort for noblemen and clergymen. We enter inside the majestic Villa Lante, magnificent example of sixteenth-century architecture enriched by a wonderful “all’italiana” garden.
