THE SECRETS OF TRASTEVERE Private Tour

Discovering the Trastevere District, the first to be established on the right bank of the Tiber River. Many people know the neighbourhood above ground, but not everyone is aware of its underground sites. Guided by our archaeologists, you will admire the remains of an ancient early Christian basilica dedicated to the martyr Chrysogonus, where frescoes from that era are still preserved. The tour then continues into an intricate network of Roman-era rooms.
You will visit a Republican-era house, which was expanded and renovated to include another house from the same period, and as you wander through its maze of corridors and spaces, you will find yourself on a fascinating route, at times sumptuously decorated, that leads to the burial place of the martyr Cecilia.

Along the way, you will also visit some streets and alleys of Trastevere above ground. The route is fully accessible and conducted by specialised staff. The visit is suitable for everyone, especially for lovers of Underground Rome.
